Editorial standards
How we research.
Every page in the AXOS research library is written the same way, to the same six rules. They are here so you can check our work — and so you know exactly what a page is, and is not, claiming.
Rule 1
Every claim is numbered to an indexed source
A statement about a compound cites a peer-reviewed, indexed record — a PubMed entry or a DOI — as a numbered marker in the text, with the full list at the foot of the page and a link to the record itself. A claim we cannot source that way is not published.
Rule 2
Figures are quoted as the study reported them
Percentages, counts and durations are taken from the paper, not from a headline about it, and the model is named alongside them: rats, cells in culture, or people, and how many. Where a figure is a relative change, we say relative to what.
Rule 3
Hedged to the evidence
A page says what the studies report and what they do not. Animal and cell results are described as animal and cell results; a review is called a review; a single small trial is not rounded up into a finding. Where the literature comes mostly from one research group, we say so.
Rule 4
Research use only, on every page
Nothing in the library tells a reader how to use a compound in a person or an animal. The compounds are supplied for laboratory research, and the pages describe laboratory research — mechanism, models, results, limits.
Rule 5
The lot, not a floor
Where a page speaks about purity, it means the measured figure on that lot's certificate of analysis, issued by an independent laboratory and published in the registry before the lot is sold. A page links to the lab reports for the compound it covers.
Rule 6
Reviewed before publishing, corrected in the open
Before a page goes live, each source is checked against the indexed record and each figure against the abstract. When we find an error — or a reader reports one — we fix it on the page and the page's updated date changes. There are no personal bylines: the company, not an individual, stands behind the text.
Who writes the pages
Axos Research Inc writes and maintains the library. Pages are drafted from the published literature, checked source by source before they are listed, and revised when the evidence — or a reader — shows us something we got wrong. Found an error? Tell us and we will fix the page.
